The theme of this year's B&T Award was 'Be Bold, Be Seen', and that resonated with the very origin story of Vibrant Insights. Starting a business is a bold move. Doing so against a backdrop of COVID uncertainty, with a 6-month-old and a 2-year-old, a mortgage, as the sole earner? That felt perhaps too bold. Doubling down on the boldness by promising to donate >10% of profit to charity (when we didn't have any profit), while committing time to pro-bono work (when we didn't even have an income) felt pretty scary. But, I wanted Vibrant to Be Seen. I wanted to prove that you can do great commercial work and have purpose, that it's possible to make a difference and command revenue. I wanted my kids to see that business can be a force for good. Being Bold and Seen goes beyond just purpose. We've continually changed how we work, built up ResTech stacks to reduce cost, self-funded work like our annual Dream Over / Dream On research, and ensured great quality data informs every decision. And now? To be honoured by B&T in selecting Vibrant as a finalist for 'Research Agency of the Year' feels pretty awesome. We're standing alongside industry greats and leaders like Fiftyfive5, Nature, Honeycomb, TRA and 5D. It feels like confirmation that those bold decisions were the right ones. Just making it into the Finalist lists is an enormous 'win' for us. Thank you to B&T for this honour. We look forward to seeing our fellow category finalists at the Awards night.
