Updates

  • Today, we are proud to introduce the refreshed SunRice Group corporate brand — a distinct, modern identity rather than one identical to our consumer brand — that reflects both our 75-year heritage and the ambition driving our future. What began in the Riverina region of New South Wales has grown into a global, multi-brand food group operating across diverse geographies, categories and value chains. Our new brand identity better represents the full strength of our organisation and the many businesses that make up the SunRice Group. At its centre, there are two abstract rice grains – a symbol of the connections that define us. From our growers and customers, regions and communities, to our past and what comes next. This identity honours where we’ve come from, while positioning us strongly for the future as we continue to grow, innovate and deliver for the people and places we serve. We’re excited to share this next chapter with our global community.

  • Across Australia, nearly 3.5 million households have experienced food insecurity in the past year — impacting families, children, seniors, and students in our local communities every day. Through our ongoing partnership with Foodbank Australia, SunRice Group helped provide more than 375,000 meals in FY25 — equivalent to over 208 tonnes of mixed rice donated to support Australians doing it tough. We’re proud to stand alongside Foodbank, which partners with more than 3,600 schools and 2,900 charities nationwide to ensure no one goes without a meal. Together, we can keep working toward #ZeroHunger. • Last night, SunRice Group was honoured to receive the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages Award at the 2025 NSW Export Awards. For 75 years, SunRice has been part of Australia’s food story — proudly helping Australian rice growers take their rice to the world. From our origins in the Riverina, we’ve grown into a diversified global food business with operations across 10 countries and products in nearly 50 markets. While our reach is global, our roots remain firmly in the Riverina region of New South Wales, where we continue to make a significant contribution to local communities, employing more than 650 people and engaging over 350 small businesses. We thank the Export Council of Australia, the judges, sponsors and all finalists for celebrating the strength and success of NSW businesses. We look forward to representing New South Wales at the National Export Awards in Canberra next month.

  • 🍚 Rice is the most consumed carbohydrate in the world — and we’re proud to help grow it more sustainably, right here in Australia. Earlier this year, our team travelled to the Riverina to film for Channel 10 Australia’s Planet Shapers — exploring how innovation and sustainability are transforming rice growing in Australia. The episode dives into: ✅ Insights from Paul Serra, Group CEO and Managing Director, and Kylie Porter, Group Sustainability Director, on how SunRice Group is leading the way in sustainable rice production ✅ How the Small family, 2024 SunRice Growers of the Year, are championing water efficiency and soil health on their farm ✅ An interview with Associate Professor Wendy Quayle from Deakin University, one of our valued research partners at Rice Research Australia (RRAPL), on work to measure and reduce methane emissions through gas flux testing ✅ The adoption of drill sowing — planting rice directly into dry soil before flooding — a practice helping Australian growers reduce water use and mitigate methane emissions by up to 86% compared to aerial sowing, based on recent trials. Together, these stories highlight SunRice Group’s commitment to a Thriving Planet including supporting sustainable farming practices and driving innovation for lower-emissions and a sustainable future for rice. 📺 Tune in this Saturday 11 October at 2:00pm (local time) on Channel 10 to watch the full story — and here’s a sneak peek of what to expect!

  • 🌾 SunRice Group Awarded $1.8 Million for Climate-Smart Farming Innovation 🌱 We’re proud to announce that the SunRice Group has been awarded over $1.8 million through the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program, as part of the Albanese Government’s commitment to supporting sustainable farming across Australia. Ultimately, the project aims to ensure sustained biodiversity and natural capital for the rice industry amidst the challenges of low water availability and reducing emissions. The funding will empower rice growers across the Murray-Darling Basin to build new skills and adopt practices that improve water efficiency, reduce emissions, and strengthen long-term sustainability and productivity. As one of ten projects selected in Round 2 of the Capacity Building Grants, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship, and supporting the resilience of our growers. We thank the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Hon Julie Collins MP, and the Australian Government for this vital support. With this partnership, we’re building a more sustainable future for Australian rice growers.

  • Today marks our first official day of trading as part of the S&P/ASX300 Index. This is an important milestone for our business and highlights how far we’ve come since our beginnings as a rice growers’ cooperative, to the diversified global food business we are today.   Since our ASX listing in 2019, our market capitalisation has more than doubled – from $495 million to over $1 billion today. Inclusion in the S&P/ASX300 enhances SunRice’s visibility with institutional investors and index funds and strengthens our position in the Australian share market. Joining the ASX300 is not only recognition of our growth, but also a testament to the trust and support of our growers, customers, investors, and employees worldwide. Together, we’ve built a resilient and globally connected business that is continuing to create value for our stakeholders around the world.

  • We’re proud to share that a new campaign for Toscano, one of the brands in the SunRice Group, has gone live on national television for the first time. The campaign introduces Toscano’s new brand platform, “Together, we eat”, which celebrates the unifying power of food to bring people together in authentic and meaningful moments.   As part of the launch, Toscano partnered with My Kitchen Rules in its final series to reach highly engaged food lovers across Australia. This was supported by a through-the-line campaign spanning TVC, out-of-home, digital, and extensive in-store activations, designed to maximise impact and drive long-term brand awareness. At the SunRice Group, we continue to invest in building strong consumer brands, and Toscano’s launch onto the national stage represents another step forward in delivering on our growth strategy.
