As public debate continues around access to abortion, SHINE SA reaffirms our unwavering commitment to reproductive rights, bodily autonomy and compassionate, evidence-based care. Every person deserves the right to make informed decisions about their own body, their health and their future free from judgment, unnecessary barriers and political interference.   Access to safe and legal abortion is essential to health, equality and dignity - we thank those who continue to speak up and advocate for our rights to safe and accessible abortion care. SHINE SA stands firmly with our communities, healthcare professionals and all who support reproductive choice and the right to bodily autonomy.

  • Big news for contraception access in Australia 💊✨ On 1 November, Australians will have subsidised access to the NuvaRing - a brand of the contraceptive vaginal ring available in Australia. Health Minister Mark Butler confirms it will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). The change will reduce the cost of this contraceptive option, making it more affordable for tens of thousands of people who already using it and making it an accessible option for those considering the NuvaRing.  This is a positive step forward in providing Australians with more when it comes to contraception. If you'd like to learn about the contraceptive vaginal ring, read our Fact Sheet here: https://lnkd.in/gudvVQiu Learn more about the NuvaRing on the PBS: https://lnkd.in/gF2Ti954
