    The first day of The Ashes has delivered a ratings winning innings for Seven, reaching 4.25 million Australians. 🏏 Session 3 on Day 1 of the West Test reached 2.67 million yesterday, with a total TV audience of 1.18 million – up 18% on the same session during last year’s first test between Australia and India. While Session 2 reached 2.17 million, with a total TV audience of 1.05 million – up a whopping 42% year-on-year. Watch all the action from Day 2 live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport!

    A big congratulations to everyone who worked on this year’s season of #RFDS, which has become Australia’s most watched free-to-air drama in 2025. 🎉 Season three was the highest rated season ever, reaching 4.59 million people. Each episode attracted an average total TV audience of 1.028 million on consolidated viewing, up 17% (6% on broadcast and 79% on 7plus) on 2023. Seven Group Managing Director, Television, Angus Ross, said: “RFDS has excelled in its 7.30pm timeslot.     Seven has secured the exclusive Australian rights to the Rugby League World Cup 2026 – live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport! 🏉 Opening on 15 October 2026 with a blockbuster clash between Australia and New Zealand at Allianz Stadium, Seven’s month-long coverage will showcase the very best of international rugby league, including 18 men’s, 15 women’s and 20 wheelchair matches. Seven’s Managing Director and CEO, Jeff Howard, said: "The Rugby League World Cup is a significant world-class event, and hosting it on home soil makes it even more special. It’s exactly the kind of premium sporting content Seven is known for and committed to delivering – live, free and exclusively to all Australians."   • Congratulations and a big thank you to everyone involved in the 2025 Channel 7 Telethon over the weekend, which raised a record breaking $90,160,275 for sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Telethon7 has raised more than $778 million since its inception in 1968 for medical research into childhood diseases, and equipment, critical services and life-changing opportunities to create a brighter future for WA children.    WA family donations over the weekend eclipsed last year, setting a new record for the community. The Telethon Ball also broke all records, raising an incredible $21 million on the night.   This year’s 26-hour live event at RAC Arena was broadcast on Seven across Western Australia and was nationally available on 7flix and #7plus.     The 2025 AFL Grand Final is the most watched program in Australia of 2025, with the match reaching 6.1 million on Seven and #7plus Sport and scoring a total TV audience of 4.08 million – up on last year. The Grand Final, which saw the Brisbane Lions take the 2025 Premiership Cup over the Geelong Cats, also had a record audience on 7plus Sport, with 969,000 tuning in for the match alone – up 48% on last year. The AFL Post-Match Presentations reached 5.46 million, with a national total TV audience of 3.8 million, up 18% on 2024. 884,000 also tuned in on 7plus Sport. The Seven Network was the #1 network on Saturday. From 6am to 6pm on Saturday, Seven had an 81.1% commercial national total TV audience share. 7plus was #1 in BVOD on Saturday, with an 86.7% audience share. In live streaming alone, 7plus had a 90.9% share. The 2025 AFL Grand Final capped off a stellar AFL season on Seven and 7plus Sport. The Finals Series (excluding yesterday’s match) reached 8.7 million people, with the entire season reaching 17.4 million. More than 4.4 million Australians streamed the season on 7plus Sport.
