As you rebuild a shattered statue, a rotary phone and other cherished objects, you’ll help their owners reconcile with loved ones and honour dearly departed friends and family.

What we love: How good it feels to fix these keepsakes. Unscrewing a watch face and plucking out gears, snapping wires into place on a vintage record player – it’s all wonderfully tactile, thanks to pitch-perfect touch controls. Even the way you gently rotate objects and set down removed parts evokes the reverence that a priceless possession – such as a damaged slide projector that holds childhood memories – deserves.

Quick tip: Before you start putting an item back together, make sure you’ve fixed every damaged component. You might replace circuit boards on a handheld game console, only to realise you forgot to swap out the shattered screen – which means disconnecting all the wires again!

Meet the creator: London–based Ustwo Games is the maker of multiple Apple Design Award winners, including the beloved puzzler Monument Valley and the eco-conscious adventure Alba: A Wildlife Adventure. While workshopping the audio effects for Assemble With Care, the team discovered that stirring pasta carbonara was perfect for mimicking the signature squelch of a glue bottle.
