Braaaains! It’s what you need to both protect and use if you’re to come out of these zombie games in one piece. Whether you prefer to focus on unaliving the undead or rebuilding after a zombie outbreak, these games bring your favourite fictional horror to life. But can you survive?
Plants vs. Zombies 2
Gardening can be a chore. All those weeds to deal with. Moles digging up the grass. Zombies destroying your plants as they fight their way towards you. It’s non-stop.
In Plants vs. Zombies 2, the action might be colourful and comical, but the pressure is real. You’ll need to plant your garden strategically if you’re to defend yourself from the latest attack. A well-placed Homing Thistle here or a game-saving Melon-pelt there could be the difference between success and failure.
The Walking Dead No Man’s Land
How many times have you sat watching The Walking Dead thinking “I could survive that”? Well, now’s your chance to try. And all without that pesky underlying risk of death.

Tactics, more than brute force, are key if you’re to survive the apocalyptic world in this turn-based title. You’ll need to time your strikes right and correctly balance your resources across a team of familiar faces to fight off the latest horde of walkers. With a camp to grow, weapons to collect and a whole cast of characters to upskill, it’s the TV show brought to life.
After Inc
As its name suggests, After Inc is all about trying to move on from an undead apocalypse. Playing as the leader of a settlement, you must keep your residents fed, watered and safe from the remaining zombies roaming the land. Explore the area around your camp for essential resources, upgrade your homestead and keep an eye on morale, to avoid your townsfolk getting cranky with you.

There’s a lot to keep track of in After Inc. Get the balance right, however, and before long you’ll have an expansive, happy and – crucially – uninfected settlement.
Resident Evil 2
Welcome to Raccoon City – it’s a nightmare here! In this action-packed entry in the Resident Evil series, you primarily play as rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape the undead plague engulfing the town.

Resident Evil 2 – which is great fun with touch controls but even better with an external controller – is filled with eerie, expansive locations to explore, puzzles to solve and creepy zombies waiting to pounce. You’ll need to make every shot count and scavenge to keep your supplies replenished. If that sounds tense and terrifying to you, then you’d be right.
Last Day on Earth: Survival
Create your character, secure supplies and you’ll be well on your way to surviving a post-apocalyptic wasteland in Last Day on Earth: Survival.

Use your hard-won materials to craft better equipment and a stronger, more resilient shelter filled with all manner of useful tools. Hunt down blueprints to discover new items to craft and build advanced vehicles to access more remote areas of the map. There are canine companions to find in the wasteland, too.
