Broken pipes can be messy, but in Flow Free: Shapes, they’re just part of the process. These simple-yet-clever puzzles challenge you to connect pairs of coloured dots by tracing a path from one to the other. If the pipes you’re laying cross, they’ll break. Seems pretty straightforward… until you’re connecting a dozen dots spread across a 3D skyscraper!
What we love: The huge range of challenges. Thousands of conundrums await, from beginner-friendly squares to brain-melting 13x15 hexagonal grids. Some even have maze walls to navigate... or must be finished without lifting your finger.
Quick tip: The puzzles in the Crossings category have one thing in common – you’ll need to trace lines across sections of the shape that are obscured from sight. Whether it’s a 2D knot or a 3D barbell, look for flows that go beneath or behind other parts of the object.
Meet the creator: Husband-and-wife duo Mike and Sharon Newman founded Miami-based Big Duck Games in 2012, the same year they released the original Flow Free. Flow Free: Shapes came from the idea of playing Flow Free on a stained-glass mosaic – a concept the Newmans honed over two years of development.
