5 tips for Whiteout Survival

In Whiteout Survival, every decision counts as you navigate blizzards, manage scarce resources and face unexpected attacks from your rivals. For both seasoned survivalists and newcomers, preparation and steady nerves will be your most trusted allies in this harsh, frozen world. Your journey to becoming the ultimate Arctic warrior begins with our top five tips...

Strategise for success in the Arena

Bringing your strongest heroes won’t be enough to conquer in the Arena. All heroes and their respective troop types have advantages and disadvantages in battle, so get to know your opponent’s line-up when planning your strategy. For example, Infantry deal an additional 10 per cent damage to Lancers, who in turn do 10 per cent more damage to Marksmen.

Natalia is a great close-combat hero: she’s a specialist infantry leader. Her skills have a wide effect.

Make your explorers efficient

When exploring, the Quick Deploy option automatically selects and deploys your strongest available heroes and troops, saving time and ensuring a strong line-up. But it doesn’t always work. After level 120, manually building your line-up allows for a more hands-on approach, where you can strategically select and place heroes and troops based on specific strengths, weaknesses and synergies. This could be key to victory over the deadly rivals you’ll encounter every five levels.

Explore missions at the Lighthouse

Before exerting all your stamina with a randomly chosen mission, check out the rewards available for each one in the Lighthouse. Rescue Survivors gives you more troops, Beast Huntings and A Hero’s Journey offer special hero shards and make your heroes stronger with skill and XP boosters, while Rookie Bounty brings resource rewards. You can send more than two marches to rescue survivors, but for Beast Huntings you are limited by the amount of marches you have in your queue.

Choose your order in the Chief’s House

Orders are a great way to speed up your game. Double Time increases the construction of new buildings and boosts upgrades by 20 per cent, but you should activate this order before starting your construction to get the bonus. Urgent Mobilization and Productivity Day will instantly add resources to your supply when you’re low on them. Remember to pop Festivities after these orders are complete to restore your survivors’ mood and comfort levels.

Tailor your line-up based on the placement of enemy heroes.

See the growth in your heroes

Your heroes have two types of roles: combat and growth. Growth heroes have expedition skills that provide buffs for construction in your city, as well as buffs that provide bonuses for gathering resources while on the map. When gathering resources, be sure to use the appropriate hero for the resource you are collecting to take advantage of their gathering buffs. Cloris is good for meat, Eugene for wood, Charlie for coal and Smith for iron.
