Saturday 5pm I’m out past Eneaba in regional WA Mother phones me she is in hospital hospital. She is lucky to get hold of me, I must be in a sweat spot for mobile reception. “I haven’t done my lotto and I’m stuck in here” she exclaims, worried that the day she misses is the day her numbers will come up. She usually goes to her local agent for a natter as she doesn’t have a lot going on being an older adult. “No worries Mum send me the numbers and I’ll do it on my Lotterywest App, but it u win first prize my commission is 1%” we laugh. Mother always plays the same numbers, has done for years, a few wins here and there too. However, she is still eagerly waiting on the big one, the elusive first prize. She replies “Don’t worry about it, if I win you’ll be well looked after”. I end the conversation with good advice “Mum just download the App it’s easy to use and perfect for times like this, it doesn’t mean you miss out on visiting your agent to say hello you can do both.
Thanks for your feedback reenslane, we're so glad that you're enjoying using the Lotterywest app and we wish your mum a quick recovery!
If first division prizes were capped at $50Million, then more people would get a bigger payout in the lower divisions.Additionally, if all Lotto games cost the same (say 50cents per line) then more people would play more games (I won't play Tuesday and Thursday Lotto because of the cost).I realise that Saturday Lotto is the most popular game but don't believe that is an excuse to make the games more expensive.Apart from a reasonable administration cost, most of the money paid by WA Lotto players goes to Charitable and Community projects in WA and prize payouts, so anything that can increase Lotto income is of benefit to the State.I am at a loss to understand why Lotto's game cost increases with monotonous regularity. Everyone knows that people spend more on gambling the poorer they get - the 'Lotto Dream' is often the only future that many ordinary people can envisage, with real income dropping faster than inflation is rising and Social Security retirement pensions are becoming increasingly unlikely in the not too distant future.
It would be handy to have a widget to show most recent draw results. It would also be much better to use Touch ID instead of passcode - if banks think it’s secure enough technology why not the Lottery Commission. It would be good to be able to see ewallet balance on the first screen after login. When buying a multi-week ticket it would be good to be able to see the win return on the winning line of the winning week - hard to know how much was won when multiple wins on same ticket. It would be great to be able to set reminder when there is only one draw left on a multi-week ticket. It would be excellent to get a notification when you have a winning ticket on the night of the draw. Thank you.
Thanks so much for your feedback n3b3c3t3 - this is very valuable to us! We are constantly looking at ways to improve our Lotterywest app and will take all of your suggestions on board.
It does not allow a financial review of expenditure in one financial year. And after a certain period of time the tickets you’ve played disappear and the financial cost so you cannot determine how much money you are spending within an Australian financial year. They are preventing financial assessment to see if you are spending too much money. Applications settings within this app prevent monitoring how much money you are spending and if you are out of control or in control. The needs to be reconsidered because you could get out of control with your spending because you cannot see how much money you’re spending per month and pay year. And they need to have a financial counter established of money spent on this Western Australian lotto. So you can effectively monitor spending on a balance sheet established within this app.
Hi richardsyguwa, thanks very much for your feedback. We are currently working on a feature that will allow players to have more insight into weekly and yearly spend to ensure responsible play. If you have any further ideas on what you would like to see in this feature, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us on 133 777 or email hello@lotterywest.wa.gov.au.
So I gave lotto another chance and I regretted it. It was all fun and games until you realise that you’ll never actually win and it’s time to give up on your dream of winning lottery. I am extremely disappointed.NOT EVEN GIVING ANY CHANCE TO THE POOR AND MAKING THE POOR POORER.I NEVER WIN ANYTHING EVEN AFTER WASTING THOUSANDS ONLINE AND INSTORE. Most of my tickets were puchased in store every single day, every single week for months I didn’t miss a day. All the tickets for the whole week and a multiple of each. Even purchased a system 14 in Saturday Lotto and a multiple of System 12’s but I never got anything, I joined multiple syndicates big and small every single day. All i get is coins to none. It’s time to uninstall and stop supporting. Again, I am very disappointed with the Lottery system in Australia. You’re better off saving your money or treat yourself. Time to move on.
I started using this app during isolation as I wasn’t able to get out and purchase my Lotto ticket. It has become impossible to use. Firstly, if I open it from my home screen it just tries to load eternally and won’t let me enter the app. I can only access it successfully through the App Store.Secondly, it won’t top up my available funds to purchase tickets even when I have more than enough money in my ewallet. I have set a spend limit of $30, but every time I purchase a ticket, it can take a week for my ewallet to allow the funds to top back up to $30, even though my ewallet has more than enough money. I have missed out on purchasing a ticket for my chosen draw several times because I don’t seem to have permission to use my own money. Not impressed.
Hi RPmus, thanks for the feedback. We're experiencing an intermittent loading issue and are currently working on a fix for it as a priority. As for the account top up, the spend limit is a weekly spend limit, not daily. you can update your spend limit to allow more weekly purchases in the settings under My Account>Financial, or feel free to call us on 133 777 and we can sort it out over the phone.
