Job Purpose

The Analytics Unit Head leads strategic studies, opportunity assessments, and feasibility analyses to support data-driven decision-making across the Tourism Sector. The role ensures strong alignment with organizational priorities, manages a high-performing team, and collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations that shape Abu Dhabi’s tourism landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Engagements & Execution

• Lead and deliver strategic initiatives including market and opportunity assessments, feasibility studies, and business case analyses.
• Conduct benchmarks, studies, and quantitative/qualitative assessments to identify opportunities and formulate strategic recommendations.
• Develop execution plans, dashboards, and reports that support leadership decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and government stakeholders to ensure cohesive and well-executed strategies.
• Monitor implementation progress, manage third-party consultants, and ensure timely delivery of all initiatives.
• Lead assigned strategic projects end-to-end, ensuring readiness for leadership review.

Research, Analysis & Opportunity Assessment

• Oversee the execution of studies and analytics related to tourism and broader DCT priorities.
• Support leadership, including the Section Head and TSMO Director, on ad hoc requests with agility and analytical rigor.
• Evaluate new opportunities and validate concepts through research, analysis, and pilot initiatives.
• Provide creative and evidence-based solutions to address varied and complex challenges.

Shared Activities

• Translate functional strategy into actionable unit business plans, ensuring alignment across relevant departments.
• Lead and develop the Analytics Unit, setting objectives, managing performance, and motivating staff.
• Promote a culture rooted in organizational values, ethics, and professionalism.
• Ensure effective implementation of policies, procedures, and controls across the unit.
• Drive continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of unit reports in line with DCT standards.
• Comply with all EHS guidelines and contribute to creating a safe and sustainable working environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5–7 years of relevant experience with a blend of industry and consulting exposure; 2–3 years in a managerial role preferred.
• Strong preference for candidates with top-tier consulting experience (e.g., MBB, Big 4).
• Understanding of the UAE and Abu Dhabi tourism ecosystem is an advantage.

Experience & Skills

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to influence senior leadership.
• Demonstrated expertise in opportunity analysis, market research, strategic planning, and feasibility studies.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; ability to present insights to C-level audiences.
• Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in creating structured, visually compelling presentations.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
